This preparatory class can be done as a self-study or a class room taught class.  As always the student only gets out of the classes what they put into it.  Either way, there is additional self study required; however, the class room environment does tend to be more informative with the additional lecture, explanation of the Code's intent and questions from the participants.

With the one week prep classes it is strongly recommended to have read all of the API and pertinent ASME documents (see the Publication Effectivity Sheet) prior to the first day of class.  The class will be fast paced to cover all of the necessary material and having read the documents prior will better prepare our retention of the class material.

We are offering a several eight-day classes and evening classes in the Houston area for the September and December 2007 exams.  Please see the Preparatory application for the appropriate application based on the class dates and times you desire. **NOTE: API RP 571 and 577 are required documents for the certification tests as of the December 2005 tests. **
